From July 4, the TAVA ROKA exhibition can be viewed at the Ola Foundation cultural space, bringing together the works of two outstanding artists - Ieva Maurīte and Dace Pētersone. The exhibition will be an emotionally charged and visually expressive art event that will demonstrate the artistic connection between two generations. The exhibition is Ieva Maurīte's tribute in memory of her mother, Dace Pētersone.

Dace Pētersone (1944–2021) spent most of her active creative career working in art ceramics, using clay, faience and grog, as well as porcelain. At the same time, drawing was always an integral part of the author's creative practice, appearing in her works in a wide variety of media. In the TAVA ROKA exhibition, the artist's daughter Ieva Maurīte presents Dace Pētersone's large-format batiks and an extensive series of drawings on metal plates, some of which, including the author's final series Apocalypse, have not previously been shown publicly. From the significant range of three-dimensional ceramic objects, the monumental Hands, made of stoneware, and a porcelain work from the series The Epistles of Paul. will be exhibited.

In Ieva Maurīte's works, the main means of expression is the line: an austere, even minimalist drawing on a monochrome background. Large-format works on canvas are exhibited.

She says about the exhibition:

“The meaning-rich title of Paul Gauguin's well-known work, “Where Do We Come From/ What Are We/ Where Are We Going“ (D'où Venons Nous / Que Sommes Nous / Où Allons Nous. P. Gauguin / 1897)  could be supplemented here with “and Whom Do We Meet Along the Way”. It is so important and so beautiful when we are fortunate enough in life to meet exceptional, truly creative people, all the more so when they are so close to us, because they are the ones who shape us, our perception, and our personal style. The exhibition “TAVA ROKA” is dedicated to my mother, Dace Pētersone. She was not only an outstanding ceramicist with an excellent sense of form, plasticity, proportion and composition, but also, and in my view above all, an accomplished draughtswoman. This is what I would like to highlight in this exhibition, presenting my mother's works in materials other than ceramics.”
