From December 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024, the Ola Foundation’s premises will host the jewelry and costume exhibition Putukrējums. This unique collaborative project brings together three Latvian artists: Jolanta Ozollapa, Gints Strēlis, and Māris Šustiņš.

Costume artist Jolanta Ozollapa is characterized by extravagance, the combination of unusual textures, and intelligence. Each costume enhances a woman’s uniqueness while also highlighting her fragility and strength. Speaking about the creative process, Jolanta admits: “In the creative process, inspiration is drawn from nature and faith, through close observation of people and animals, and by combining various forms of artistic expression.”

Jewelry artist Gints Strēlis emphasizes: “In my jewelry, I forge values that the wearer carries forward, strengthens, and shares with others. Through the prism of my own sensibility, incorporating the values of different peoples and eras, I give jewelry longevity.” The artist believes that the foundation of everything is the interaction between nature and people, reverence for the creative process, and quality.
Meanwhile, Māris Šustiņš, speaking about the collection presented in the exhibition, says: “The jewelry collection will be a new story and adventure for the viewer. The amber road, millions of years old, continues. Now, thanks to modern technologies, it has taken on a new form and shines like a brilliant diamond.” The symbiosis of unique technologies and the master’s craftsmanship will allow us to see familiar amber from an entirely new perspective.

We do not yet know whether beauty will save the world, but we hope that Putukrējums will delight every visitor and create a festive atmosphere!
