At the most beautiful time of year, when the first candles begin to glow, the cultural space Ola
Foundation invites you to a special premiere evening - the premiere of composer Jānis Lūsēns's
new Christmas concert programme “A Moment Before the Little Lights”
on December 8 at 7:00 p.m.
Jānis Lūsēns - one of the most sensitive composers of our time - once again
returns to the Christmas theme so close to his heart, creating music in which
warmth, reflection and anticipation of light intertwine. His songs have become part of
many families' holiday traditions; they are heard on the radio, in choirs and in people's hearts.
This time, the composer has gathered around him the new opera star Brigita
Reisone and Latvian National Theatre actor Raimonds Celms. The programme includes both entirely new songs created especially for this duo and melodies beloved and well known by the public. Raimonds will also perform poetry and prose excerpts.
The concert's atmosphere has been created so that every listener feels as though they are part of a family gathering - in a large living room where music and poetry fill the air, candles burn on the Christmas tree and gingerbread cookies are fragrant.
Everyone is united by the Christmas spirit, family and love for Latvia. It is
time to remember childhood, winter adventures, parents, grandparents, first
love. And, of course, the eternal story of the birth of Christ. And to thank
the Creator for having experienced so much good and lasting beauty that will
live in our hearts for all time.
