On 15 April, the fifth discussion in the OLAS SARUNAS series will take place at the OLA FOUNDATION cultural venue on the topic - "WHO OWNS THE TRUTH? A PERSON BETWEEN THE ALGORITHM, SHADOW POWER, AND SELF-THERAPY"

We live in a time when information floods us - from screens, headlines, messages, and social media. But at the same time... it is becoming increasingly difficult to trust. Who can we believe?

What is fact, what is opinion, and what is a well-packaged story or simply a lie?

This conversation will be about all of us. About how to think when thinking has become a challenge. About how not to become confused, how not to be afraid, and how not to lose our inner compass at a time when there are more questions than answers.

In the discussion, we will seek answers to the following questions:

    • Does truth even still exist? Or has it simply changed its form?
    • Do the media inform us - or shape our thoughts?
    • What is the role of artificial intelligence in the information space?
    • Are we still thinking people, or are we - well-trained “scrollers”?
    • Who can we trust today - and is faith still necessary?

    Participants:

    Ēriks Stendzenieks

A communications strategist and advertising professional, one of the most prominent and controversially viewed public voices in Latvia. His perspective on society and the dynamics of information is always provocative, unexpected, and profound.

    Uldis Pīlēns

An architect and entrepreneur. His perspective is grounded in extensive experience in both national development and the inner world of the individual. He seeks connections between power, culture, and society's values.

    Armands Puče

A journalist and editor, known in society for his sharp, direct, and independent perspective. He is not afraid to ask uncomfortable questions and stands for clarity at a time when emotions often overshadow facts.

    Discussion moderator: Anna Peipiņa

A renowned journalist with a talent for asking the right questions, allowing conversations to become genuine and engaging, and questions that people usually avoid answering.
