On the evening of December 10, a very special star will shine in Ola - the world-famous soprano Kristīne Opolais, whose talent and heart can move audiences around the world. On this special concert evening, the program will feature not only the world-famous "Ave Maria" melodies by Charles Gounod and Pietro Mascagni, but also César Franck's moving "Panis Angelicus", Giuseppe Verdi's prayer scene for Desdemona, and works by other composers. The concert will be a beautiful journey through time and emotional scenes, where music combines with the Christmas atmosphere, creating warm emotions and musical enjoyment.

The concert will be in two parts.
Intermission: 30 minutes.

The concert begins at 19:00; guests are invited to arrive from 18:15 for a glass of welcome wine and a visit to three current exhibitions.

KRISTĪNE OPOLAIS has earned a reputation as an exceptional singing actress and is in demand worldwide. Audiences have had the opportunity to enjoy her performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Zurich Opera House, the Royal Opera House in London, and elsewhere. The artist has worked with conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Sir Antonio Pappano, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Mark Elder, Andris Nelsons, Fabio Luisi, and Kirill Petrenko. Her performances have been recorded on numerous DVDs and broadcast live in cinemas worldwide as part of the Metropolitan Opera's Live in HD project. The artist is a two-time recipient of Latvia's Great Music Prize (2006, 2011).

Pianist Agnese EGLIŅA is a laureate of international competitions and has received the Great Music Prize several times - in 2010 in the category “For Outstanding Work in an Ensemble” and in 2020 in the category “For Outstanding Performance Throughout the Year”; in 2021, she received it in the category "For Outstanding Interpretation" for Ž. Grisey's composition "Vortex Temporum".
