Personal exhibition by legendary photographer David Burnett

2 September, 12:00 | Ola Foundation

From September 2 to 14, the world-renowned American photographer and photojournalist David Burnett will present a solo exhibition at the “Ola Foundation” cultural venue. This is a unique opportunity for Latvian audiences to gain an up-close insight into the author's perspective on historical events around the world and the people who shaped them.

David Burnett is a photography legend with more than five decades of experience. During his career, he has documented dozens of historic events - from the Olympic Games and political developments to behind-the-scenes moments in the lives of iconic figures.

His work is characterized by profound humanity, an outstanding sense of composition, and the ability to be present during moments of history. Burnett's lens has captured figures such as Bob Marley, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Princess Diana, and many others.

The exhibition in Latvia was initiated by Viesturs Koziols and is being organized through the association “Viena Diena.lv”. He emphasizes with great satisfaction that he is truly honored by “Ola Foundation's” response and trust in the idea, and highly values the fact that this exhibition will take place in such a high-quality and creative cultural venue.

“Photography can stop a moment and turn it into history, preserving emotions, energy, and the traces people leave behind in time. We at “Ola” love and highly value photography as an essential part of contemporary culture - an art form that combines reality and storytelling. We are truly honored to host David Burnett's exhibition,” says Ilze Pīlēna, founder of “Ola Foundation”.

The exhibition will take place following the international photography conference “Vision & Voices: Photography for a Connected World”, held on August 29-30 in Liepāja. Following the conference, Burnett will present his solo exhibition for the first time in Latvia at the “Ola Foundation” venue.

The exhibition is supported by the insurtech company Balcia, travel agency KASA
Travel, and the law firm Loze & Partneri.
