From September 5 to November 30, the cultural venue Ola Foundation will host a joint exhibition by artist Agate Apkalne and musician Estere Jansone, TOUCH OF THE UNIVERSE.
The exhibition offers visitors a unique multisensory experience: audiovisual and meditative
a space where the synthesis of music and visual art reveals the beauty
the beauty and power of the earth, water, and air.
Patterns of Natural Landscapes meditatively relax the viewer, allowing them to sink into their own depths
and surrender to the temptation to immerse themselves in the majesty of nature depicted by both artists. Each work in the series
each painting, composition, and object has its own special significance and fascinating story of its creation,
which makes this series an audiovisual diary of the souls of both artists
depiction.
The video projection “The Way Home” will also be shown as part of the Touch of the Universe exhibition.
Agate Apkalne's talent, expressed in a photorealistic style, has been recognized in Latvia and gained
wider recognition in Western Europe. Over the years, the artist has gradually developed increasingly
more symbolic and profound narratives, creating semantically multifaceted images. The paintings
in the Touch of the Universe series, she leads the viewer into a meditative, harmonious observation of nature -
as a reflection on the principles governing the structure of the world and an invitation to look into the depths of one's soul
journeys in which the interplay of consciousness and the subconscious is contained in the subjects of the paintings and the interplay of reflections.
Meanwhile, Estere Jansone combines her talents as a cellist and composer, creating innovative
multimedia art projects. Her electronic music is inspired by the forces of nature and the elements
power. In Estere's compositions, cello melodies intertwine with whispers of wind, birdsong, and whale
songs, the crackling of blazing fire, and the rustling of waves. This soundscape leads
into a meditative state, allowing them to experience more deeply the influence of the elements depicted in the paintings
upon people.
The exhibition Touch of the Universe is an unforgettable experience in which Agate Apkalne materializes
the majesty of nature on canvas, while Estere Jansone captures it in sound. Through the interaction of the two artists
a space emerges that allows the viewer to become part of the power and harmony of nature.
