On August 7 at 19:00, Ola Foundation cultural space invites you to a special concert,
where three outstanding, world-class musicians will meet on one stage for the first time
– Aurēlija Šimkus, Tonijs Jaiks Jangs and Andrejs Puškarevs.
The programme will feature J. S. Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto in his 340th
anniversary year, as well as popular song melodies by George Gershwin in Andrejs Puškarevs’
arrangements, created especially for this trio ensemble. Schubert’s Fantasy for piano four hands will be performed by Aurēlija and Tonijs as a piano duet.
The concert by Aurēlija Šimkus and Tonijs Jaiks Jangs at Ola Foundation at the beginning of
2024 received high praise from audiences and professionals. This will be an opportunity to hear their musical interplay again – this time in a new and special ensemble.
The concert will consist of two parts.
Intermission: 30 minutes.
Guests are warmly invited to arrive from 18:15 to enjoy a glass of welcome wine and
a viewing of the current art exhibitions.

BIO
Aurēlija Šimkus is an outstanding pianist who has earned international recognition by receiving the
prestigious Echo Klassik award and performing at festivals such as Interlaken
Classics, Kissingen Summer, the Kurt Weill Festival, the Bonn Schumann Festival and others.
She has performed with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra,
the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, the State Choir "Latvija" and many other

Tonijs Jaiks Jangs- acclaimed as one of Canada’s finest young
musicians, the pianist gained international recognition at the age of 16 by placing
fifth in the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015. He has
also won prizes at the Van Cliburn, Bosendorfer & Yamaha USASU, Hilton Head and
other international piano competitions.
As a soloist, Tonijs has performed at Koerner Hall in Toronto, the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, the Seoul
Arts Center, the Warsaw National Philharmonic, the Millennium Amphitheatre in Dubai,
Severance Hall in Cleveland, Chopin Hall in Mexico City and elsewhere.
He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics and is currently continuing his studies
at the Hanover University of Music and is an artist in residence in Sweden and China.
Andrejs Puškarevs, an outstanding vibraphonist and longtime member of the world-famous
chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica, began studying percussion instruments
in his native Ukraine at the age of fourteen.
A significant turning point in the musician’s career came in 1999, when he joined
the chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica, with which he has toured throughout the
world and made recordings for such renowned labels as Nonesuch, Deutche
Grammophon, ECM, etc.
Andrejs Puškarevs’ solo performance can be heard on Kremerata Baltica’s recording After
Mocart, which received a Grammy Award in the United States in 2001, and a year later
an Echo Award in Germany. As a soloist, he has performed in such halls as Carnegie
Hall, Concertgebouw, Musikverein and Wigmore Hall.
