This is a long-awaited and significant occasion for the pianist, as not only will he perform his compositions in concert for the first time in his life, but he will also share stories about their creation.
In preparation for this event, Andrejs Osokins reveals that he most often composes in the evenings or at night, after long hours of rehearsals have ended and when he has been deeply moved by performing the music of genius composers. “My music is like a response to these composers - a thank-you for the beauty they created and left for humanity. At the same time, it is also a thank-you to listeners for their love of music and for how deeply their presence moves me during concerts. This is the main driving force behind my compositions, which are very heartfelt, soulful, and refined, highlighting the moving nature of the piano’s sound.”
The album “Stardiving” contains thirteen expressive, meditative improvisations for solo piano - twelve of them dedicated to one month of the calendar year, revealing its mood, while the thirteenth work is like a summary of the passage of time, conveying reflections on the year lived.
“Stardiving” was created in collaboration with sound engineer Edgardo Vertanesjan, founder of the music label “Prima Classic,” under the auspices of the music label “Healing Music.” It is available on all major music streaming platforms. The concert at “Ola Foundation” will also offer a unique opportunity to hear unreleased compositions intended for this album.
Guests are invited to arrive from 18:15 for a glass of wine from the Barents restaurant and a viewing of two current exhibitions - “The Changeable Unchanging” featuring works from the foundation’s private contemporary art collection, and “Her Northern Call” featuring Baltic jewelry and large-format black-and-white photographs.
