With the concert performance "Do Not Let The Dog Out - Kind of Night " Maestro Raimonds Pauls, actor Andris Keišs and trumpeter Oskars Ozoliņš will perform at the "OLA Foundation" Cultural Center on November 13 at 18.00.
On this day, celebrating the 89th birthday of the poet Ojārs Vācietis, a fantasy about the great poet, his unpublished poetry, correspondence, interviews and conversations will be played out in a concert performance.
Guests are welcome from 17:15 with a glass of wine from "Olas" cooperation partner restaurant "Barents". Before the concert, guests are invited to view two current exhibitions: "Changed Unchanged" with works from the foundation's private contemporary art collection and "Her Northern Calling" with Baltic jewellery and large-scale black and white photographs.
About the program "Do Not Let The Dog Out - Kind of Night"
In the program, actor Andris Keišs, sometimes violating, sometimes respecting and sometimes merging and breaking down the boundaries of time, will lead the audience to look into the world of the genius personality and poet Ojārs Vācietis. It will be like a meeting of the poet with the audience. During his life, public events often confused Ojārs Vācietis, seemed unnecessary and burdensome, because the most important thing was the intimate, direct meeting between poetry and the reader through the pages of his books. He often missed meetings, thus creating confusion and rumors in society.
The performance is a musical fantasy, overcoming the threshold of eternity, where space is reserved for Vācietis self-irony and laughter in conversations with creative personalities of different times, songs composed by Raimonds Pauls with lyrics by Ojārs Vācietis, and sadness and world pain in poetry. A gathering to speak in public without censorship and framing of the era.
