On Wednesday, May 20, the spring vote for the Latvian Public Media's annual cultural award “Kilograms of Culture 2026” began, and we are truly delighted to share news that is especially significant to the Ola Foundation team.
The Ola Foundation exhibition “Asnate Smeltere. Continuity” has been nominated in the “Heritage” category in the spring vote for the Latvian Public Media cultural award “Kilograms of Culture 2026”.
This nomination feels to us like much more than just recognition for the exhibition. It is a beautiful way of drawing attention to Asnate Smeltere herself - a person who, over more than fifty years, has shaped Latvia's visual culture, sense of elegance, and our shared memories of Riga, fashion, and time.
The exhibition was created as a deeply personal story and, at the same time, a story of an era - about femininity, style, creative courage, and the enduring connection between people and their time. About things that do not disappear.
