Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica (SOLD OUT)

21 June, 19:00 | Ola Foundation

We are especially honored that on June 21 this year, the Ola Foundation cultural venue will host a concert by GIDONS KRĒMERS together with six outstanding musicians from KREMERATA BALTICA.

Gidons Kēmers, violin
Onute Grazinite, piano
Madara Pētersone, violin
Zane Kalniņa, violin
Jevgēņija Frolova, viola
Magdalena Ceple, cello
Jurijs Gavriļuks, double bass

Gidona  Krēmera needs no lengthy introduction, as he is one of the world's most renowned violinists and conductors, the founder (1997) and director of the Grammy-winning chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica, considered one of Europe's most distinguished international ensembles. He has recorded more than 120 albums, many of which have received prestigious international awards. His long list of honors includes the Ernst von Siemens Musikpreis, the Bundesverdienstkreuz, the Unesco Award, and the Una Vita Nella Musica - Artur Rubinstein Award. In 2016, Gidons Krēmers received the Praemium Imperiale Award, widely regarded as the Nobel Prize of music.

Gidons Krēmers describes Kremerata Baltica as: “Open, self-critical, an extension of my musical spirit. Its performances must always create a sense of spontaneous music-making, which makes the concert dramatic and sensual, a continuation of the creative process.”

Kremerata Baltica has performed in more than 50 countries and 600 cities, giving more than 1,000 concerts worldwide. "Kremerata Baltica plays as if every note were a human life..." - Norman Lebrecht, British Music journalist and author of the classical music blog Slipped Disc.
