TRIO FABEL. VIENS VAKARS. DIVI LAIKMETI

FABEL TRIO. ONE EVENING. TWO ERAS

10 May, 19:00 | Ola Foundation

On May 10 at 19:00, Ola Foundation cultural space will host Trio Fabel - a trio of stars of Latvian music - Anna Gāgane (clarinet), Kristaps Bergs (cello), and Linda Leine (piano), who will perform the concert ONE EVENING. TWO ERAS. The concert and academic lives of these internationally acclaimed young musicians unfold intensely across various European countries, making it especially delightful that they have found time to reunite in their homeland and delight audiences with a special concert in the Ola Foundation music salon.

The concert program will span two different eras: Romanticism will be represented by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, and Swiss composer Paul Juon, while the evening's special event will be the world premiere of composer Oskars Herliņš's new work Three sci-fi stories, written especially for Trio Fabel and revealing the soundscape of our contemporary era to the audience.

The evening will feature Ludwig van Beethoven's Trio for clarinet, cello, and piano, a work from the composer's youth that is considered a galant piece, whose finale contains a cheerful melody that could often be heard being sung in the streets at night at that time. This is the origin of the work's unofficial title, Gassenhauer Trio, or street song. Johannes Brahms's Romantic masterpiece will, in his characteristic manner, sweep the audience into a turbulent whirlpool of emotions. Swiss composer Paul Juon's Miniatures will lead listeners into poignantly elegiac moods, offer them the chance to feel a passionate dance and plunge into a whirlwind of humor, before finally allowing them to sink into a gentle haze of dreams.

The evening's special event will be the premiere of composer Oskars Herliņš's new work, written especially for Trio Fabel. The cycle Three sci-fi stories consists of three contrasting movements: News For Nobody, The Abyss of The Dark Planes, and Toroid of Light.

Trio Fabel has performed in concert halls in Latvia, Germany, and Italy, as well as at the prestigious Usedomer Festival in Germany.

The concert will be in two parts.

Guests are warmly invited to arrive from 18:15 for a glass of welcome wine and a tour of the current exhibitions.
